The October Revolution, also called the Bolshevik Revolution, occurred in Soviet Ukraine in October and November in the year 1917. This is a memoir of my great-grandmother's one year after the take over. She was 18 years old at the time.
After Tsar Nicholas II and his family were executed, shot in the cellars of the Orienburg Fortress, not only the richest members of the highest class-aristocracy, the lords of the enormous estates and factories, but we, the professors, teachers, clergymen, class of clerical works, the representatives of the middle-class, even good laboring farmers, who were not poor, and the workers of factories, those of them being more capable, taking more initiative, always working overtime, who reached some relative wealth, were now the enemy. ~ Nina Sorochenko.
